Nathan Buchman

Saxophone & Piano Teacher

Nathan Buchman is a saxophonist and pianist currently studying a Bachelor’s of Science/Bachelor’s of Music at Monash University. His musical journey reflects both dedication and versatility. His love for music began at the age of four, when he started piano lessons at Yamaha Music School. Over the years, he developed a strong foundation in performance and musicianship, completing Grade 7 AMEB piano and achieving Grade 8 AMEB on saxophone.
The saxophone, which he first picked up in primary school, quickly became a defining part of his identity as a musician. Alongside classical training, Nathan embraced contemporary performance, expanding into electronic music and live DJing during his first year as a music university student. This dual path has shaped him into a well-rounded performer who thrives in both traditional and modern settings, bringing energy and creativity to every performance.
Currently pursuing tertiary studies in music, Nathan continues to grow as both an artist and an educator. His passion for teaching is driven by a desire to share the joy of music with others, helping students discover not only technical skills but also self-expression, creativity, and confidence. For Nathan, teaching is an extension of his own musical journey as a way to pass on the inspiration and discipline that shaped his life.
