Piano Teacher

Hong Yue Lo (Tobey) is a Melbourne-based pianist and experienced piano teacher with over eight years of teaching experience. Born and raised in Hong Kong, she began learning piano at the age of seven and achieved her ATCL diploma at just 15.

Building on her studies in the Bachelor of Music at the University of Melbourne, Tobey has developed a well-rounded and student-centred teaching approach. She teaches both children and adults, offering lessons in both in-person and online formats.

Tobey specialises in AMEB exam preparation as well as creative and engaging learning approaches. Her students range from beginners to AMEB Preliminary and up to Grade 8, and have achieved strong results in AMEB exams, including A+. She focuses on building strong technical foundations while also nurturing musical expression and confidence.

Her lessons strike a balance between structure and creativity, ensuring students not only progress effectively in exams but also develop a genuine enjoyment of music. Whether learning for exams or personal interest, Tobey creates a supportive and motivating environment tailored to each student.
